About us
Cisolo began, as so many beautiful things tend to, around the kitchen table, fueled by far too much coffee and four friends with an overzealous amount of words in their minds.
For years, we’d be sniffing out pieces we loved and handing them down to our best friends. A friend would compliment our dress, we’d somehow score one on the internet (or thrift one if we were lucky) and a quiet, unofficial shopping-for-friends service of ours snowballed until it was something we did for everyone in our circle. Over one too many cups of coffee one morning, we’d finally get around to mentioning it to one another over the check: “Why don’t we just do this ourselves?”
So we did.
We’re four friends in our late twenties/early thirties living in Arizona and we’d continually found ourselves frustrated with our clothes. We’re either buying from brands catering to teens, outfits that price like investments, or well-intentioned pieces that collapse into thin air after just a few washes. Apparently nobody was interested in making clothes for the rest of us - for women who like to look pulled together and also genuinely be comfortable without ever feeling like it has to be a sacrifice.
Which is why we created Cisolo.
The name itself? It popped onto a napkin from our breakfast, that very morning. Didn’t signify much yet and the freedom in that is exactly what felt so right to us – an open space to imbue with a sound we loved, one that hinted at the new venture we were embarking on.
Today, every piece on this shop has to prove itself in our own closets first. If it wouldn't get worn by one of us for a normal Tuesday (yes, including our comfiest lounging ones), then it doesn’t make it. We look at how it fits, how it wears over time and how it makes us feel when we walk out the door.
